Art Gallery

Last week we began some summer art with Ms. Tierney! We are learning about the beach and animals you may find there so we created some crabs! It's okay though, these ones are friendly and don't pinch!!

We loved reading the story 'What the ladybird heard' by Julia Donaldson last week. This week during Aistear we are creating our own ladybirds!

'Rosie' the ladybird is now proudly displayed at the back of our classroom with all her little ladybirds!

We enjoyed learning all about Space when we returned from our Easter holidays! We learned lots about the sun, moon and stars and really enjoyed reading the story 'Thad gets to the Moon'. We created our own rocket ships and also made lists of items we thought would be good to bring with us if we were to travel to the moon.

We made some Leprechaun faces for St. Patrick's Day and these were displayed outside our classroom. We included the song we sang at the ceolchoirm - 'Lá 'le Pádraig!'

On World Book Day we worked together with Ms McCarville's class to complete an art lesson based on the book we read, 'The Train Ride'. We all had to paint a train carriage whatever colour we liked and then stick a picture of ourselves in the middle. We imagined all the things we would see if we were to take a train journey together and had great fun designing and painting.

To celebrate Valentines Day on the 14th of February, everyone created a 'I love you to Pieces' card to bring home to mammy and daddy! <3

We created stars when we were learning the nursery rhyme 'Twinkle Twinkle'! These stars have now been made into a very inviting door display! Can you spot your name?

We have been learning a lot about autumn and the colours we see during this season. During Aistear we painted the trunk of a tree and added a hand print for branches. We then used our fingers and selected suitable colours to represent the leaves during autumn. This wonderful display is now outside our classroom :)

We brought in our baby photographs to study how we have changed since we were babies! We created a frame using pasta, coloured in the background and then stuck down our baby pictures and then a picture of us now! Look at how we have grown!
